The term Dyspareunia refers to the presence of pain during coitus. It is different from vaginism as here penetration is possible, but it turns uncomfortable or even painful, which takes all the pleasure out of the encounter and it can even become an unpleasant situation altogether. As a consequence, we often find a diminished libido, especially if the idea of coitus is present at any point during the sexual encounter.
The causes can be physical or psychological, or a combination of both factors.
At our center we can help you overcome the psychological causes which may be causing this situation. We can also recommend a specialist to run a complete series of tests in order to find and solve possible physical causes.
